Course Overview (Benefits)
The Level 1 Award is ideal if you are new to the welding, metal fabrication, thermal cutting and brazing & soldering and want to gain knowledge and practical experience.

There are no formal entry requirements for this level of study.

They allow candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the engineering sector.
The unit is designed to enable candidates to demonstrate welding skills typically found in industry and associated underpinning knowledge to a level that will enable them to complete welded joints in simple welding positions.

12.0
Target Group
Those individuals with no prior welding experience looking to develop knowledge and skills to begin a career in welding.
Assessment and Certification
To successfully pass the course, five practical assignments, consisting of welding joints in simple positions (horizontal) and one oral knowledge test must be passed, with successful completion evidencing an individual’s competence in their chosen welding method.
Successful delegates will receive a City & Guilds certificate.
