Job Description: • Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning, assessment plans and internal verification/moderation. • Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners. • Create individual SMART learning targets linked to apprentices programme/course and be responsible for recording learner progress • Maintain and update knowledge of the subject and / or vocational and educational research to develop evidence-based practice • Motivate and inspire learners to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression. • Reflect on what works best in teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of learners; including ensuring all reasonable adjustments for SEND learners identify suitable strategies are put in place to enable them and eliminate any disadvantage. • Adapt curriculum delivery methods to maximise their effectiveness, including through the use of technology. • Assist in the development and planning of the personal development curriculum for apprentices. • Potential delivery of commercial CPD courses as appropriate.
Essential Skills: • To hold a PGCE/Cert.Ed qualification. • English and Mathematics at least Level 2 or above or a willingness to improve in 1 or both disciplines to a level 3 or above. • Experience of working with SEND learners • Understanding of strategies to support and develop SEND learners. • Strong ability to develop effective relationships with learners. • Strong ability to develop rapport and empathy • Able to work in a team sharing responsibilities and duties • Good organisational and administrative skills • Able to work in a team towards EHCP outcomes identified where learners hold EHC plans.
