Engineering Study Programme

What is the Engineering Study Programme?

Our Engineering Engineering Study Programme has been designed to provide applicants that have not gained Apprenticeship employment with us the opportunity to still gain the skills, knowledge and behaviours of the engineering environment. The candidates will work towards units of a Level 2 certificate within our training centre in various areas of engineering including Mechanical, Electrical, Maintenance and Fabrication & Welding. Candidates will also develop personal development skills which ensures employability skills are gained. Examples of these employability skills include Positive Behaviours in the Workplace, Achieving Success in an Interview, Mental Health and Well-being, plus much more. Towards the end of the Study Programme, it is our hope that the candidates will be placed with one of our engineering employers to help put the practical skills learned during the programme into practice, with the view of progressing onto a full Apprenticeship.

How long will the Engineering Study Programme take?

The Engineering Study Programme will take place 2 days a week (Thursdays and Fridays) at Alliance Learning over a 15 week period. The programme will commence from October 2020 and run until March 2021.

What will I work towards during the Engineering Study Programme?

  • Units of a Level 2 Certificate in Engineering
  • Practical training in our workshops / lessons to provide the foundation skills required within industry
  • Employability and personal development skills
  • Employer placement towards the end of the course, with a view to progress onto a full Apprenticeship
