Apprentice Engineer | Boundary Gate and Barrier
Boundary Gate and Barrier are specialists in the maintenance, repair and installation of Automated Gates, Barriers, Turnstiles, Road Blockers, Bollards, Turnstiles, Roller Shutters and Automatic Doors, operating nationally with over 1700 sites in the UK.
We are looking for a self- motivated individual to join our growing team as an Apprentice Engineer with a view to eventually becoming a fully qualified engineer within the Boundary Team.
The chosen candidate will attend Alliance Learning on a day release program, the remainder of the week will be spent out in the field with an experienced Service Engineer, learning every aspect of the job with regards to maintenance and repairs, in addition to on the job training with the installations team for block period. We will also be providing some extra workshop training with our Senior Engineer and day release courses for product training at our main suppliers/manufacturers such as BFT, Came and Parking Facilities.
As we are a National Company who travel up and down the UK, the successful candidate will be expected to stay away on occasion with accommodation costs paid for by the company, an allowance will also be provided for breakfast and evening meals when staying away. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of GCSE grades A-C. As the end objective is for the candidate to become a fully trained service engineer with a company van a driving licence will be crucial, therefore we would expect the chosen candidate to be looking to arrange driving lessons, with a view to having passed their test within the first 18 months of employment.
We are based in Breightmet, Bolton which has access to bus routes for Bolton and Bury.
The successful applicant will also work towards an Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance. You will gain an NVQ Level 3, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills.
