Course Overview (Benefits) This course highlights potential hazards when working on site and provides practical advice on keeping yourself and your colleagues safe. It covers your individual and employer’s responsibilities, including what you can do if you think anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk. It is endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all supervisors working on Build UK sites and provides an understanding of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues. It highlights legal responsibilities and the need to promote health and safety to supervise effectively.
Course Requirements Photographic I.D is needed, along with your National Insurance Number. Candidates need to have a good understanding of the English language.

Course Content/Topics Covered The course covers the following topics: - The need to prevent accidents - Health and safety law - How your role fits into the control and management of the site - Risk assessments and method statements - Performing safely and asking for advice - How to report unsafe acts to prevent an accident

Target Group This course is aimed at candidates who work in the construction industry and require the 'green' card; delegates will need to book themselves onto the touch screen test separately to obtain the card.
Assessment and Certification This is a highly interactive course delivered by means of case studies, classroom discussion and group work. You will be continuously assessed and required to successfully complete a multiple-choice test. Upon completion of the course, you will gain a CITB Site Safety Plus Certificate. Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date.
