Celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week 2024 at Alliance Learning

Mental Health Awareness Week 2024 was an inspiring and heartwarming event at Alliance Learning, filled with activities aimed at promoting wellbeing, fostering important conversations, and creating a supportive environment for everyone. Here’s a recap of the wonderful initiatives and events that took place throughout the week.

The week began with a delightful surprise, as all our offices were greeted with wellbeing hampers. These thoughtfully curated hampers were filled with a variety of goodies, including tea, coffee, and biscuits. The aim was to bring smiles to everyone's faces and encourage conversations about mental health in the workplace. There’s something special about sharing a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit that opens the door to meaningful dialogue and support.

One of the highlights of the week was the visit from Rayne, the therapy dog. Rayne’s wagging tail and gentle presence brought immense joy and comfort, especially to our Apprentices who were facing the stress of exams. Her calming influence was felt throughout the offices and workshops, and it was a wonderful reminder of the therapeutic benefits animals can bring. A huge thank you to Laura from SHE: Support Her Empowerment, for bringing Rayne in and spreading so much happiness and tranquillity among us all!

To show our support for mental health awareness, #TeamAlliance proudly wore green as part of The Mental Health Foundation's #WearItGreen campaign. This vibrant display of green attire was not only a visual testament to our commitment to mental health but also helped spark conversations and raise awareness about the importance of mental well-being.

Our Engineering Apprentices had the privilege of participating in an insightful online session led by Michael from Andy's Club. This session provided valuable insights into mental health, offering practical advice and strategies to manage stress and maintain well-being. It was an enriching experience that equipped our Apprentices with tools to support their mental health both in and out of the workplace.

To conclude Mental Health Awareness Week on a high note, staff took part in a walk up to Rivington Pike. This outdoor activity was not only a fantastic way to promote physical wellbeing but also served as an opportunity for team bonding and reflection. Walking amongst nature, enjoying the fresh air, and sharing conversations with colleagues was a perfect way to wrap up a week dedicated to mental health.

Mental Health Awareness Week 2024 at Alliance Learning was a resounding success, thanks to the enthusiastic participation and support from everyone involved. The activities and events throughout the week highlighted the importance of mental health, encouraged open conversations, and fostered a supportive community.

Let's keep the conversation going and continue to support each other in our journey towards better mental health.
