New Foundation Degree course launched in Bolton - for aspiring Early Years teachers
May 2017
The part-time course will take three years to complete and will be predominantly work-based, with a focus on developing the specialist skills and knowledge required by students who want to work with children from birth to five years, and their families, within the Early Years sector.
Following successful completion of the Foundation Degree, students have lots of progression options open to them including teacher training, BA Honours Degree In Early Years (Top-up) or a BA Honours in Education. With these qualifications career progression can include management roles and progression onto the Early Years Teacher status.
Lauren Brophy, Programme Leader at Alliance Learning, said:
“I am extremely pleased to be delivering this programme in partnership with the University of Bolton, it enables a clear progression route for our apprentices to move onto the next stage of their careers. ”
Jane Howarth, Dean at the University of Bolton, commented:
“We are really pleased to have Alliance Learning working in partnership with the School of Health and Human Sciences at the University of Bolton. We have an existing number of partners working closely with us on our Early Years provision and this has strengthened an excellent programme of vocational study that has resulted in a real contribution and is making a difference to the quality of early years provision in the region.”
Applications are now open for the course and the deadline to apply for a place is 31 July 2017. The course can be fully funded through a student loan (subject to eligibility) and further information is available from Alliance Learning by calling 01204 677888 or click to visit the page.
