An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Apprentice Fabricator/Welding roles here at Thompsons. Welder / Fabricator (Winger) This position involves working within the winging department to complete your main duties and ensure that commercial vehicle tippers are fully ‘winged’ in line with company standards and production set production targets in place. You duties will include: • Welding and fabricating sides onto commercial vehicle bodies. • Fitting commercial vehicle bodies onto chassis. • Drilling. • Using the guillotine and saw. • Reading drawings and measuring accurately. • Efficient and conscientious worker. • Using hand tools, pistol drills, riveters, MIG welders, and Oxy - Acetylene torches. Welder / Fabricator (Bodybuilder) This position involves working within the bodybuilding department to complete your main duties and ensure that commercial vehicle tipper bodies are welded and fabricated in line with company standards and set production targets in place. Duties will include: • Welding and fabricating bespoke commercial vehicle tipper bodies. • Drilling. • Using the guillotine and saw. • Reading drawings and measuring accurately. • Efficient and conscientious worker. • Using hand tools, pistol drills, riveters, MIG welders, and Oxy - Acetylene torches.
