Performing Manufacturing Operations NVQ Level 2

Target Group
This vocational training course is intended for employees that are seeking recognition of their competence in one or more of a wide range of activities. The course offers maximum flexibility to meet the needs of semi-skilled and skilled workers engaged in engineering maintenance and installation.
Course Duration
This course takes approximately 12 months to complete.
Course Content
Delegates must complete 3 mandatory units plus 3-5 additional units dependent upon the pathway chosen.
Mandatory Units:
- Working safely in an Engineering environment
- Working efficiently and effectively in Engineering
- Using and communicating technical information
Pathway Options:
- Engineering Practices
- Technical Support
How often will an assessor visit me?
To complete the NVQ it is required that one of our assessors visits you and witnesses you working first hand in your job role. During the qualification, you will receive 8-10 visits from one of our assessors.
Engineering Maintenance & Installation NVQ Level 2 & 3

Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering NVQ Level 2 & 3

The Level 2 course takes approximately 12 months to complete and the Level 3 takes approximately 24 months.
Course Content
NVQ level 2: 6 units dependant on the pathway chosen. One of the following options can be selected:
- Turning and Milling
- Machine Operating
- NC/CNC Machine Operating
- Production Assembly
- Fitting and Assembly
NVQ Level 3: 6 units dependent on the pathway chosen. One of the following options can be selected:
- Machining
- NC/CNC Machining
- Machine Tool Setting
- Fitting and Assembly
The NVQ extended diploma will require 3 extra QPEO Level 2 units to be delivered within our training centre.

Fabrication & Welding NVQ Level 2 & 3

Course Duration
The Level 2 course takes approximately 12 months to complete and the Level 3 takes approximately 24 months.
Course Content
NVQ level 2: 6 units dependant on the pathway chosen. One of the following options can be selected:
- Manual Welding
- Welding Machine Operating
- Brazing and/or Soldering
- Sheet Metalwork (3mm or less)
- Plate worker (3mm upwards)
- Structural Steelwork
- Pipework Fabrication
NVQ Level 3: 4-9 units dependent on the pathway chosen. One of the following options can be selected:
- Manual Welding
- Sheet Metal Working (3mm or less)
- Plate working (3mm upwards)
- Structural Steelwork
- Pipe and Tube Fabrication

Technical Support NVQ Level 3

This vocational training course is intended for those working in a technical services function within a variety of engineering services.
Course Duration
The Level 3 takes approximately 12 months to complete.
Course Content
NVQ Level 3: 3 Units (2 Mandatory, 1 Optional)
- Determine Requirements to Achieve Engineering Objectives - Contribute to the Effectiveness of Work Activities
1 Optional Unit: Delegates choose with guidance, if needed 1 additional unit (from a selection of 15) that is suitable for their working environment
