Personal Development Sessions

At Alliance Learning, we are committed to supporting the growth of every learner – not just academically, but personally and professionally too. Our Personal Development Sessions are designed to prepare learners for life beyond training, equipping them with the knowledge, confidence, and awareness they need to succeed in the workplace and in society.

We work with a range of organisations, charities, and professionals to deliver impactful and engaging sessions that cover a variety of essential life topics. These include:

Career Development & Employability

• LinkedIn Workshops – Helping learners create professional online profiles and build networks to boost their employability.
• Industry Professionals – Guest speakers offering insights into specific sectors, job roles, and career pathways.
• The Royal Navy – Providing insight into career opportunities and life skills gained through service.
• University Speakers – Offering guidance on higher education routes and what to expect from university life.
• Unite the Union – Educating learners on workplace rights, responsibilities, and trade union support.

Health & Wellbeing

• OddBalls Foundation – Raising awareness about testicular cancer and the importance of regular health checks.
• Kooth & Qwell – Promoting digital mental health support and providing access to online counselling.
• Andy’s Man Club – Encouraging open conversations about men’s mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Life Skills & Safety

• Driving Information – Preparing learners with the knowledge they need as they approach driving age, including safety and legal responsibilities.
• Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service – Offering guidance on fire safety, open water swimming safety, and emergency awareness
• Greater Manchester Police Service (Knife Crime Education) – Raising awareness about the dangers and consequences of knife crime.
• Personal Finance Society – Delivering sessions on budgeting, financial literacy, and managing personal money matters.

These sessions play a crucial role in developing well-rounded individuals who are informed, responsible, and career-ready. They also support the Gatsby Benchmark 3 (Addressing the needs of each pupil) and Benchmark 5 (Encounters with employers and employees), which are key indicators used by Ofsted to assess the quality of careers education and personal development within training providers. By integrating personal development into our training programmes, we ensure that every learner not only gains a qualification but also the life skills and resilience needed to thrive in today’s world.
