GTA England is a national network of high-quality, employer-governed delivery organisations consisting of 26 members.

Lindsay faced intense competition from over 22,000 potential nominees across England, however, took the title thanks to a strong written application that included some of her biggest achievements, such as working through the COVID-19 pandemic whilst also homeschooling her young daughter. Lindsay also won the Alliance Learning Rising Star Award in Business Management for 2021-2022.

Alliance Learning is very proud of Lindsay’s achievements at the GTA England Apprenticeship Awards, Lindsay wasn’t the only Apprentice representing Alliance Learning this year. David Green from TfGM and Nathan Hunt from Pure Fabs were also finalists within their categories Apprentice of the Year for Business Services and Apprentice of the Year for Engineering.

Receiving the award, Lindsay said:
“ I really didn't expect to win this national award for best newcomer for business service out of 22,00 people. To be recognised for all the hard work I have put in is an amazing feeling. I feel like I have found what I want to do with my life after having my daughter relatively young. It's been hard to find a career path for me, and I am so grateful to Alliance Learning and especially my tutor Anne, for the nomination and the way she has helped me progress. I feel so proud of how far I have come over the last 5 years with the support from Alliance Learning and my family. I am now going on to start a new role as a Senior Property Manager. I do feel without the belief Anne and the team at Alliance Learning had in me, I would never have won this award or gotten to where I am today. If anyone is considering doing an Apprenticeship as an older learner, then do it, I cannot sing Alliance Learning's praises enough.”

Chloe Ramsden, Business Development Manager at Alliance Learning, had the following comments:
"We are absolutely delighted that we made the nationals with 3 finalists (David Green – TfGM, Nathan Hunt – Pure Fabs Limited, Lindsay Carr – M&R Plumbing & Heating Services), as well as come away with a winner in the Business Services Category - Lindsay Carr. Her dedication and commitment to her Apprenticeship, supported by our fantastic team of Tutors (in particular Anne Eshborn) at Alliance Learning really shines through. I am sure Lindsay, Nathan and David will all continue to flourish within their careers.”

Anne Eshborn, Curriculum Lead at Alliance Learning, made the following comments:
“When Lindsay approached us regarding undertaking her Level 5 Operational / Department Manager award, she had recently been promoted to Office Manager. Having completed her Business Administrator Level 3, Alliance Learning was her first port of call. She wasn’t sure at all if she was ready for this major step but what I did see in our initial conversation was a passion for career development and a willingness to work hard and learn as much as she could. She clearly knew the admin duties well but the art of managing a team less so. Fifteen months later, Lindsay, is a confident and effective leader and manager of her team. She has created new procedures, instigated an ambitious performance review process that actively encourages development for all, and is about to rejuvenate the website to increase customer flow and hopefully, increase customer numbers in an increasingly busy market. She has learned these skills on the Apprenticeship and more importantly, applied her learning. She fully deserves this award for all her hard work, commitment and the sheer enthusiasm she starts each day with. Lindsay will go far and this is yet another stepping stone on her career pathway.”
