Apprentice ‘Neal Wareing’ is crowned Young Person of the year
Our Apprentice of the year Neal Wareing has scooped yet another award. The innovative 20-year-old apprentice was crowned Young Person / Apprentice of the year at the 2016 Bolton and Bury Business Awards.
This was the third award of the year as Neal has also recently won Electrical Apprentice of the year as well as Alliance Learning’s overall Apprentice of the year.
Neal who is employed by wax experts Kerax Ltd based in Chorley has been recognised for going the extra mile and his supervisors have been amazed by his progress. One example of his excellent work is that he made a working model of one of the company’s machines which took him more than 50 hours in his own time, this was then presented at an exposition in Paris.
Neal had the following comments “I’m really pleased but very surprised. It has been a great year for me, picking up three awards. I’m still not used to winning though, it is very nerve wracking getting up there in front of crowds of people. An Apprenticeship was a preferred route for me than college and it shows to people that you don’t have to follow the usual routes. I really enjoy what I do and I have learnt so much, I’m looking forward to the rest of my career.” His supervisor Steve France, said he was “amazed at how well Neal has progressed, he has made numerous contributions in the workplace. His quality of work is like that of someone who has decades of experience.” Alliance Learning’s CEO Julie Robinson had the following comments “We are extremely proud of what Neal has achieved, it is great to see our future workforce being recognised for their hard work and proving that Apprenticeships continue to be a great career path.”
