Job Description:
As an award winning, family run business, we make it our aim to provide the highest quality outdoor play equipment for educational settings and private residences. Our installations overflow with natural resources which allow children of all ages the opportunity to express themselves. The potential for learning has no limit in our tailor made play spaces where minds have the scope to imagine and bodies the freedom to move. Each play space we design and install are completely unique but to get some idea of the designs available please check out our pictures, write ups and testimonials or get in touch via telephone, email or social media. We base our designs and installs around things we experience in the great outdoors, from climbing trees to splashing in a stream, we are influenced by what we see around us. Oliver hand draws and designs your play space but also creates it on site with his skilled team. From design to install he is engaged and the vision is carried through. We have a workshop in Bolton with skilled carpenters which we combine with our ‘All Weather Warriors’ on site who love to do the bespoke chainsaw work. Check out our speciality Play Trees! As a Lean Manufacturing Operative, you will be expected to carry your work safely and meet the exacting quality standards. At Cool Canvas we use natural materials and where we can we create on site, reacting to the children’s needs and the environment around us. Nothing is off the shelf when it comes to the Cool Canvas team. If you have an idea, let us know and together we can make it happen! With this in mind we are looking for a creative person and previous experience of working with wood we see as a positive as that the core material used in all our creations. By the end of the apprenticeship you will be able to; Prepare, control, contribute to and complete manufacturing operations of our designs, and follow the process from design to installation, whilst adhering to specific safe working policies & procedures. Maintaining Health and Safety requirements at all times e.g. wearing correct Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) correct use of equipment and tooling, safe stopping and resetting of machinery, maintain an organised work area e.g. 5s (Sifting, Sorting, Sweeping, Spick & Span and Sustain) ensuring the safe disposal of waste in line with environmental systems and regulatory requirements. Contribute, develop and support improvement in the process using continuous improvement methods, process visualisation using lean principles and problem-solving tools and techniques. Carry out quality checks throughout the creation stage to ensure quality is built in and that any defects or concerns are highlighted and dealt with in line with relevant quality standards. We look forward to hearing from you. Olly and the Cool Canvas team. |
