Course Overview (Benefits) This course aims to provide basic working knowledge and practical experience in basic mechanical/fitting skills.
Course Requirements It is a requirement that all candidates provide PPE.

Course Content/Topics Covered This course covers: - Measuring/marking out to include datums/guidelines, angles etc. - Bench fitting: Safely using - drilling machine, pedestal grinder, Power-Saw - Filing surfaces - flat and square, curved and angular - Removing surplus materials - sawing, chiselling and shaping - Producing holes to include - drilling, reaming, countersinking - Drill grinding, key fitting, pulley and shaft alignment - Drive belts, holding devices, bearings (fitting and extraction) - Course review and evaluation

Target Group This course is designed for delegates who wish to gain mechanical skills, suitable for both electrical installation and maintenance personnel.
Assessment and Certification Throughout the course, you will build a portfolio of your work and this will be assessed upon completion of the course. Once this has been assessed and you have successfully passed, you will be awarded with an Alliance Learning certificate of competence. An EAL accredited unit of competence can be achieved at additional costs and duration time.
