AWARDING ORGANISATION:

The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) is the only chartered professional body in the UK that is dedicated to promoting the highest standards in management and leadership excellence. Over 100,000 managers use its services on a daily basis. It was over 60 years ago that, as the British Institute of Management back then, the organisation developed the UK’s very first diploma in management studies. In the years that followed CMI has constantly been at the forefront of all aspects of management training and thinking. CMI’s practical qualifications are ideal for managers and leaders at any level, and CMI remain the only awarding and independent body
recognised by the Privy Council to award Chartered Manager status
(CMgr MCMI).

TARGET GROUP:

A Senior Leader is someone who provides clear, inclusive, and strategic leadership and direction, typically to the operational departmental managers. They are accountable to the business owner or a Board of Directors. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities and job titles will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same. Key responsibilities and award requirements will include shaping organisational mission, culture and values, new market strategies, business modelling, competitive strategies, including horizon scanning perspectives and the use of big data and insight to implement and manage change, financial strategies and building agile and collaborative cultures.

COURSE DURATION:

30 months with 6 months for end point assessment.

COURSE CONTENT:

• Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership – this qualification contains 5 units and will be academically assignment based. The units covered in the diploma are: Strategic Leadership, Leading and Developing People to Optimise Performance, Developing Organisational Strategy, Finance for Strategic Leadership and Personal and Professional Development for Strategic Leaders.

• On-programme assessment which will include assessment of knowledge through the Diploma assignments  and assessment of skills and behaviours , resulting in a portfolio of evidence which will demonstrate performance strategies that focus on growth and sustainable outcomes, evidence of leading change through innovation and creativity, driving continuous improvement, responding to a crisis situation through risk management, acting as an organisational ambassador, challenging current strategies and supporting Corporate Social responsibility driving a culture of opportunity and overseeing finance, strategic planning and contracts. Alliance Learning will also work closely with the employer to ensure that the learner achieves the 20% off-the-job learning opportunities required prior to end point assessment. The learner will also need to prepare for an end point assessment, which consists of a presentation on a strategic business proposal and a professional discussion underpinned by portfolio evidence.

• Gateway to end-point assessment, is where the employer and provider agree that the apprentice has completed the above and has the knowledge, skills and behaviours to progress to the end-point assessment. The apprentice must have achieved Functional English and Maths at Level 2 if not already gained.

• End-Point Assessment is conducted by CMI and will consist of a professional discussion underpinned by the contents of the portfolio of evidence and a strategic business proposal (to be agreed with the employer and EPAO ) and presentation with associated questioning.

 

HOW OFTEN WILL AN ASSESSOR VISIT ME?

You will be seen by your Tutor on, at minimum, a monthly basis, with an agreed tutorial timetable and if required, workplace visits.

On completion of this Apprenticeship, you will be awarded Chartered Manager Status.
