What does a Level 3 Team Leader / Supervisor Apprentice do?
This apprenticeship is aimed at anyone who currently works in a team leading, supervisory or first line manager role and is an ideal progression for people who have done a Level 2 qualification and now have additional responsibilities at work. It has been designed to allow the apprentice to gain the required leadership knowledge and develop the skills and behaviours needed to manage a team effectively.
What are the entry requirements?
Candidates must already be in some sort of supervisory role or have the opportunity to undertake the skills required as part of this apprenticeship such as managing team performance, lead meetings, allocate work, collate and analyse data and information and manage conflict.
What is the duration of the course?
The Level 3 Team Leader / Supervisor Apprenticeship takes approximately 21 months to complete (this includes End Point Assessment.
How can I progress in Team Leading?
After completing the Level 3 Team Leader / Supervisor apprenticeship you could progress onto the Level 5 Operations / Departmental Manager Apprenticeship.
What Qualifications will I gain?
This Apprenticeship is nationally recognised and will be gained through on the job training and the assessment of knowledge (workbooks), work products, professional discussions and witness testimonies. All learners will also complete a small work-based project and create a portfolio of evidence. There is also a requirement that the learner undertakes 20% off the job learning which must take place in work time and equates to around 1 day a week. Following on programme learning the learner will undertake end point assessment.
2. Functional Skills in English and Maths:
Functional Skills are qualifications in Maths and English that equip learners with the practical skills needed to learn, live and work successfully.
3. CMI Level 3 Certificate in Leadership & Management
All learners complete one unit from the Level 3 Diploma – the Principles of Management & Leadership and receive a certificate for this.
4. On completation learners gain CMI Foundation Chartered Manager status.
How often will my tutor see me?
The learner will be seen by the tutor at minimum, every 4 weeks either face to face or using Teams. Additional tutorials may be arranged and a progress with the learner and their employer will take place every 12 weeks.
End Point Assessment
Gateway to end-point assessment follows on programme learning and occurs when the employer and provider agree that the apprentice has the knowledge, skills and behaviours to progress to the end-point assessment. The apprentice must have achieved Functional English and Maths at Level 2, if not already gained and must have proof of 20% off the job
End Point assessment is conducted by CMI and will consist of a professional discussion underpinned by the contents portfolio of evidence and a presentation on a topic provided by CMI at Gateway with additional questioning.
