Course Overview (Benefits)
This City & Guilds Medium Risk Confined Space Requalification course is for those who have completed a novice medium risk course in the past and now require re-certification.
This course provides delegates with up-to-date knowledge and skills for working safely in a confined space.
Course Requirements
IT IS MANDATORY OWN PPE MUST BE PROVIDED INCLUDING HARNESSES ANYONE ATTENDING A COURSE WITHOUT RELEVANT PPE WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO ATTEND AND FULL PAYMENT WILL BE APPLIED.
Candidates must bring their own PPE for the practical element of the course including hard hat, safety footwear, gloves and appropriate workwear for confined space entry such as safety overalls.
Candidates must be fit and healthy enough to carry out the practical element of the course.
All delegates intending to use escape breathing apparatus with a close fitting face mask will need to be clean shaven ( any beard , stubble, thick sideburns, long hair or moustache in the region where a face mask is intended to seal the face will cause leakage ). If in doubt please contact us prior to the course.

• The purpose and use of gas detection equipment
• The purpose and use of escape breathing apparatus

• The purpose and use of tripods and man riding winches
• Personal protective equipment and hygiene
• Examination, testing and maintenance of equipment
• Ventilation and the avoidance of unsafe atmospheres
• Communication and entry procedures
• Practical exercise in procedures

Target Group
Anyone who as part of their occupation is required to enter, work in or exit a confined space, as defined by the confined space regulations and who need to refresh previous training.
Assessment and Certification
Delegates will be assessed by a written question paper and practical observation, and upon successful completion will be awarded with a City & Guilds certificate which is valid for three years.
