Course Overview (Benefits)
This course gives delegates the skills to understand the dangers of working in a low risk confined space environment and to be able to operate a safe systems of work under the Confined Space Regulations 1997. This predominantly theoretical training course will allow individuals to be component to test a confined space atmosphere, select appropriate work equipment and ensure emergency plans are in place prior to work commencing.
Alliance learning puts the safety of its customers and employees as its highest priority. Our COVID-19 risk assessment prohibits the sharing of any PPE.
IT IS MADATORY OWN PPE MUST BE PROVIDED INCLUDING HARNESSES ANYONE ATTENDING A COURSE WITHOUT RELEVANT PPE WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO ATTEND AND FULL PAYMENT WILL BE APPLIED.
Course Requirements
Candidates must bring their own PPE for the practical element of the course including hard hat, safety footwear, gloves and appropriate workwear for confined space entry such as safety overalls.
Candidates must be fit and healthy enough to carry out the practical element of the course.

Delegates on this course will be required to actively participate in group discussion and syndicate exercises analysing and assessing various workplace scenarios. Topics covered include:
- Current Confined Space Legislation
- Recognition of confined spaces
- Dangers associated with these areas
- Hazardous atmospheres
- Use of multi gas monitors (theory & practical)
- Use of correct PPE in Confined Space
- Risk Assessments
- Permits to Work
- Safe sytems of work for entry into confined spaces
- Methods of communication
- Disease and personal hygiene associated with confined spaces
- Using and testing of confined space equipment under LOLER
- Emergency procedures

Target Group
Workers who are required to enter low risk confined spaces.
Assessment and Certification
You will be assessed by a multiple choice examination and a practical observation. Upon successful completion, delegates will be awarded with an Alliance Learning certificate which is currently valid for 3 years.
