Course Overview (Benefits)
The NEBOSH General Certificate offers a valuable overview of the core aspects of occupational health and safety, and an excellent platform for individuals who are looking to build on their existing knowledge and skills to take your career to the next level.
Designed for managers, supervisors and employees who have health and safety responsibilities, the General Certificate will equip you with everything you need to know about how to manage workplace risks effectively.
The course allows for flexibility to ensure delivery of the learning outcomes to learners and accommodate different learning styles.

The knowledge you will gain from completing the course, will enable you to proceed in your role with confidence, which is inline with current legislation.
Course Requirements
CANDIDATES MUST BRING WITH THEM PHOTOGRAPHIC IDENTIFICATION (Travel passport, Driving License etc.)
Please seek advise from the sales team if candidates are unable to bring Photo ID.
The course takes place every Wednesday evening 6--9pm, offering flexibility to gain a nationall recognised qualification in your own time, and minimising impact on other commitments. Delivered over a total of 34 weeks, the course includes:
- 30 classroom sessions
- 4 independent weekly study breaks, including Christmas

Course Content/Topics Covered
NEBOSH General Certificate is equivalent to a NVQ Level 3 / A-Level qualification. The course is split into two units which are assessed individually. The course contents includes:
NG1: Management of Health and Safety
- Why we should manage workplace Health and Safety
- How Health and Safety management systems work and what they look like
- Managing risk; understanding people and processes
- Health and Safety monitoring and measuring
NG2: Risk Assessment
- Physical and psychological health
- Musculoskeletal health
- Chemical and biological agents
- General Workplace issues
- Work Equipment
- Fire
- Electricity

Target Group
Designed for managers, supervisors and employees who have health and safety responsibilities, the General Certificate will equip you with everything you need to know about how to manage workplace risks effectively.
Assessment and Certification
The NEBOSH General Certificate is split into two units which are assessed individually:
- NG1: An open book digital examination to assess what you know. This is scenario based and will include a closing interview in which you will be asked questions about your submission. Learners will have 24 hours to assess, complete and submit their paper starting from 11am (UK time) on the exam date.
- NG2: A practical risk assessment to assess what you can you. Learners will complete a risk assessment and develop an action plan for their workplace – this is immediately useful and valuable.
Assessment Results
Assessment results for both units should be received within 50 working days from the date of the examination or submission of the written risk assessment. The specific date is written on your examination entry confirmation.
In the event you do not pass either assessment, Alliance Learning will contact you to discuss next steps. Re-sits of either unit is at your own cost, but we can provide additional revision days and tutor support is available. In addition, provide you with continued access to our VLE – Moodle page.
Re-assessment fee: £89.00 per unit
