Job Description:
The WA Cooke Group was originally founded in 1926 and started out providing Blacksmith and general steelwork services to the people of Manchester however it quickly grew into a large steel fabrication supplier producing industrial fabrications and specialist steelwork. WA Cooke Group has over 100 years’ experience and our companies still work to the same principles. As a family run business, we are now looking for someone to join our team. Our Engineering division is the foundation of the WA Cooke group offering a wide range of engineering services covering all types of steel fabrication from simple components through to complete assembled machinery. We are now looking for an Apprentice fabricator, plater, sheetmetal worker, welder. We are able to offer a wide range of engineering services covering all types of steel fabrication from simple components through to complete, assembled machinery. Duties will include: All aspects of fabrication – stainless steel fabrication, mild steel fabrication, heavy fabrication. Coded welding. Use of hand fitting tools. precise reading of drawings. Measuring out. Working as a team player. meeting deadlines. W. A Cookes is easy to get to by road or rail (15-20 mins walk from Walkden station) You will be attending Alliance Learning on day release. PLEASE NOTE: The Engineering intake will start in September with interviews planned in after May 2024. |
