Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has just arisen to join the country’s largest UK owned airport operator. Working out of Manchester airport you will join our team of service engineers who work hard to ensure the smooth running and safety of our thousands of customers. As a multi award winning airport we are active and engaged in our local communities with a positive approach to corporate responsibility.

We are now looking for two Field Service Engineers who will work under direct supervision. With our team you will learn & perform a wide variety of technical duties to ensure our aviation product range is compliant with industry best practice.
The aim is for you to assist and become proficient in the service and support critical infrastructure Security & Detection Systems.
First 6-months of training program will involve working within the Service team, and other relevant departments at Manchester Airport and Commissioning/ Install teams.

Following which, the role will be based mainly at Manchester Airport and also field based shadowing the Field Service Engineers cross the North region of the UK.
Here at Manchester Airport you will have a 5 year training plan
To attain a ‘competency qualification’ within the Electrical / Electronic “Mechatronics” apprenticeship standard whilst attending college on a day release basis and/or as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Role
• Works within UK Service.
• Competently use Test Equipment (DVM, Radiation meters and PAC tester)
• To attend internal product training
• Training to perform assembly tasks
• To assist in the repair & maintenance of Security & Detection Systems within Field Service
• Training to wire electrical control cabinets
• Training to understand GA drawings and Electrical documentation. Attendance at college on a day release basis leading to attainment of
Engineering Technician Level 3 qualification
• Working across all departments to achieve a complete understanding of the Service, Manufacturing / Engineering processes

Time Management
• Effective time management.

Communication
• Excellent communication skills. Ability to understand tasks allocated and to work with the department team.

Team Working
• Role involves working with the service, manufacturing, stores and engineering team.

Cross Functional Working
• Adapt to roles within other departments to facilitate delivery of projects

• Always follow and promote Group and Company policies and procedures
• Ensure all Company equipment and personal PPE is correctly used and maintained.
